SIGnet Launches Tyne-Tees Investor Group

SIGnet, a not-for-profit organisation, is excited to announce the launch of a new group, for members in the Tyne-Tees area.

Currently, the nearest group is in Leeds. SIGnet is offering this new Tyne-Tees group for members in the northeast.

You are invited: to an online meeting to explain more about the group, meet other investors, and arrange our first group meetings. This launch meeting is scheduled at 7pm on 8th February and is expected to last approximately 90 minutes. It is open to all investors with an interest in our new group but you will need to join SIGnet (if not already a member) to attend further in-person meetings of the group. Go here for further details and to register your attendance.

SIGnet groups are for: discussion about shares and investing, and members are welcome from all investing levels of experience, and investment styles. SIGnet groups offer an opportunity to meet, socialise and learn from fellow investors. We plan to meet regularly, mostly in-person with occasional online meetings: this will depend on the preferences of the group members.

SIGnet groups are NOT for: promotion of any financial products or services. They are run by their members for their members’ mutual exchange of knowledge and enjoyment.

Benefits of being part of a group:

  • Learn from experience of other investors, share yours
  • Hear and debate new stock, fund or trust ideas
  • Discuss how to be a better investor
  • Improve your investing network, make friends with other investors
  • Have some fun!

Launch Meeting: the purpose of the launch meeting is to agree the parameters for the operation of the group. These include venue, frequency, timing and structure of meetings. Each SIGnet group is individual and organises itself in accordance with the wishes of group members. Visit the SIGnet website to learn more about SIGnet and its groups. The agenda for the launch meeting is as follows:

1. Welcome & Introductions
2. About SIGnet
3. Convener(s) for the group
4. Timing and frequency of in-person meetings
5. Preferred venue for meetings
6. Structure/content of meetings
