Press Release 123:
Jema Arnold appointed as a Director of ShareSoc

ShareSoc, the UK member organisation for individual investors, is delighted to announce that Jema Arnold has been appointed as Non-Executive Director.

Jema Arnold qualified as a Chartered Accountant at Price Waterhouse, then specialised in financial recruitment to creative and consumer-facing businesses at organisations including Robert Walters, PageGroup and Korn Ferry. She is an active investor who is passionate about financial empowerment and keen to encourage wider interest in and knowledge of investing.

Jema said “ShareSoc provides essential information, networking, education and lobbying functions for private investors, and I am delighted to join as a director to make my contribution toward ShareSoc’s important work.”

Jema started her investment journey in 1983 but after a 17-year break, recently joined ShareSoc and SIGnet in order to broaden her investing knowledge. She is already actively involved in two SIGnet investor groups and is known to many members.

ShareSoc is a not-for-profit organisation, created by investors for investors. Its aims are to help improve the investment experience of individuals and to represent their interests wherever this is needed. It is growing its membership, providing a wider range of services to them and is increasingly being recognised as the representative voice of individual investors.

Mike Dennis (ShareSoc director) added “We are very proud to welcome Jema as a director. She increases the diversity of experience and thinking within the Board at a time when ShareSoc is seeking to widen its appeal to a greater diversity of investors. Our recently introduced educational videos series – ShareSoc Investing Basics – is a prime example of the work we are doing to address the needs of those new to investing and Jema’s own experiences will help us to build on this work.”
