Edward Ellul.What is the status of EEA residents holding an account with a UK based investment platform following Brexit?
The investment company I am currently using has informed me that I need to close my account following Brexit but another UK-based company seems to be willing to accept EEA residents.
I have an account with Interactive Brokers and live in Spain so they’ve transferred my portfolio to a new Irish subsidiary they’vet set up specifically. Same login, same trading platform, everything went through smoothly.
Thanks Roger for this info. IG will only transfer spread betting and CFD accounts to IG Europe but not share dealing accounts. I plan to open an IB account and transfer to them

However, most of the group are predominantly interested in equities within the context of a portfolio. Although some members are highly experienced traders that is not true of all and experience level should not be seen as an impediment to joining.
