Launch Meeting for New Value Investing Virtual Group

SIGnet is a national network of individual investor groups in the UK. Groups meet on a regular basis (in-person or online), typically monthly, to give individual investors the opportunity to socialise, discuss, and learn from each other. The main goal is to improve members’ knowledge and investment decision-making processes through free discussion and mutual education. We are launching a new virtual group for investors interested in value investing
An online meeting has been arranged to launch the group and this will take place at 7:00pm on Tuesday 3rd March 2026.
The Convener for the Group will be Ben Bennett. Ben’s career spans tech consulting and cyber security. Like many investors he started out passively investing in global index funds. As his knowledge and bookshelf grew, he became hooked on the historical outperformance of value investors. The approach of buying something for less than it’s worth resonated with him as the soundest way to build wealth, his goal is to one day transition to a full-time investor.
The group follows a disciplined value-investing approach, guided by the principle of buying businesses at a large discount to intrinsic value. While value investing is often associated with metrics like low P/E or P/B ratios, in the case of this group it refers broadly to stocks trading well below their estimated worth based on fundamental analysis.
Meetings will be held monthly, online at 7pm on the second Tuesday of the month.
The launch meeting is open to anyone. If not already a member, you will need to join SIGnet to attend subsequent meetings.
Places in the new group are limited. Priority goes to members who register for SIGnet within 5 days of the launch meeting and aren’t in other groups. Remaining spots will be given to SIGnet/Premium members on a first-come, first-served basis*. If the group is full, we’ll add you to a waiting list and may start another group if a volunteer Convener is available.

*SIGnet members can join up to two groups if there are vacancies. Priority is given to those who haven’t reached their limit. To join more than two groups, please email your request to info@sharesoc.org for the Head of SIGnet’s attention.
