Press Release 130 – ShareSoc partnership with InvestorHub

InvestorHub and ShareSoc have today announced a partnership to champion shareholder democracy in the UK.

InvestorHub, a software company which enables issuers to engage directly with their shareholders, joins forces with ShareSoc, the UK’s premier membership organisation for individual investors.

The partnership will see InvestorHub provide funding to ShareSoc, as well as support for a series of events designed to connect emerging public companies with individual investors. ShareSoc has long campaigned to improve the ability of individual shareholders to exercise their rights and participate in corporate governance.

This new partnership underlines the beliefs of both partners that:

• Individual investors play a key role in making financial markets efficient;
• They are an important source of growth capital;
• Companies should engage openly with individual investors and should treat all shareholders equally;
• Effective governance and stewardship of public companies is essential;
• Financial markets should operate transparently and fairly; and
• Appropriate regulation and enforcement is necessary to ensure this.

Since the company’s UK launch earlier this year, InvestorHub now supports 120 listed companies globally to help them form direct relationships with their investors. This latest partnership with ShareSoc represents a further step in the company’s work to improve the way listed businesses engage with their retail investors.
