This year’s Albion Development AGM was held on Thursday 30th May 2019 at 12:00hrs at the City of London Club in Old Broad Street, conveniently located between Liverpool Street and Bank stations – the same venue as the previous week’s Kings Arms Yard VCT AGM and the following week’s Albion Technology & General VCT AGM. This year’s Kings Arms Yard VCT AGM was held on Monday (May 21st 2019) starting at 11.00. The venue was the same as the previous eight AGMs since Albion took over as manager in 2011: The City of London Club, 19 Broad Street, London, EC2N 1DS. Sadly this is the last year they will hold it at this excellent venue due to a building refit, so next year it will be held at Albion’s new offices in Farringdon.

Yesterday (23rd May) I attended the Annual General Meeting of GoCompare.com Group (GOCO) which was actually renamed GoCo Group at the meeting. This was held in the City of London at 3.00 pm but even so there were still very few ordinary shareholders present – less than ten I would guess.

The Merchant Taylors Hall is probably one of the more impressive venues where I’ve attended an AGM. The beautiful hall and quart yard garden created an impressive space for the Witan Investment Trust AGM. On arrival coffee and a selection of teas and biscuits and cucumber or lemon water and juice were served to the roughly 100 shareholders and representatives attending.

AGM report of The Independent Investment Trust - March 13, 2018
The Independent Investment Trust (IIT), as its name implies is not your ordinary run-of-the mill investment trust. It was set up 18 years ago by Max Ward, as a sort of ‘retirement project’ after he stepped down as a long-time partner of Edinburgh fund managers Baillie Gifford, where he had managed its flagship Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust for more than a decade.
