Ocado Trading Update, Coronavius Apps, EMIS AGM, IDOX Pay, Segro Dividends

Ocado (OCDO) issued a trading update today, and it shows their joint retail venture with M&S is benefiting from the coronavirus epidemic. In the second quarter revenue was up 40% on the prior year. They have had to ramp up capacity significantly to meet this demand, and they have suspended delivery of mineral water so as to cope with the needs of additional households. The announcement gives the distinct impression that they need more warehouses (or CFCs as they call them). On ...

EMIS Investor Event

On Thursday (29/11/2018) I attended the EMIS Group (EMIS) Capital Markets Day at the London Stock Exchange. Having held shares in the company since 2011, this was a great opportunity to get an update on the situation of the company and its future plans. First some background. EMIS is best known as the provider of software that general practitioners use – EMIS Web (primary care). That has more than 50% of the UK GP market. But the company also has many other ...

Carillion, EMIS and KPMG

EMIS sell software to the NHS, primarily to G.P. practices under a “framework agreement” (GPSoc). Effectively prices are negotiated centrally and then actual purchases placed by Primary Care Trusts (PCTS) under a ...

EMIS (EMIS) AGM Report 2012 – Bonuses deserved but not paid

On the 24th April I attended the Annual General Meeting of EMIS in Leeds at 10.00 am. Not surprisingly given the venue and time, there seemed to be only two ordinary shareholders present including me, and only I asked any questions. EMIS is the leading supplier (53% market share in the UK) of healthcare software to GPs. In fact my own GP uses it. Not only does this provide a “practice management” system used by all practice staff, but they are also ...
