Another point to note is that RELX bought back £700m of shares in 2018 at average price of £26.02. The share price at 5 April, the date of the Minerva report was £18.47. The 2018 share buy back was not a good use of shareholders funds.
If we hold shares via an ISA(IG) can we and how do we vote? Thanks
Hi Matthew,
The short answer is “yes”. You need to instruct your broker (IG) to vote the shares on your behalf.
Note that platforms/brokers are required to allow those with ISAs to vote their shares. See this blog post: https://www.sharesoc.org/blog/regulations-and-law/voting-your-shares-isas/ You might also find this article useful: https://www.sharesoc.org/investor-academy/advanced-topics/nominee-accounts/.
However, it might now be too late to issue instructions regarding RELX, as the meeting is only on the 22nd. We will try to issue these reports sooner, in future.
Best,
Mark
Thanks Mark, I will give it a go still but yes a bit more notice would be great too, cheers
