Company Information: BlackRock Latin American Investment Trust plc aims to secure long-term capital growth and an attractive total return primarily through investing in quoted securities in Latin America. Home to approximately 650m people and countries as diverse as Mexico, Chile and Brazil, Latin America has exciting potential for investors as its economies grow and develop. The Trust builds a carefully selected portfolio of the region’s most compelling investment opportunities with the aim of delivering long-term income and capital growth.
Edward Kuczma is co-manager of the BlackRock Latin American Investment Trust plc. Ed is a Portfolio Manager for BlackRock’s Latin American Equity funds and a member of the Global Emerging Markets Equity team within BlackRock’s Fundamental Active Equity business. Ed is a seasoned veteran of the emerging markets asset class with over 15 years of investment experience across all sectors and countries in Latin America. He has a BSc degree as a double major in Finance and Business Administration from Georgetown University and is a CFA charterholder.
Sam Vecht is co-manager of the BlackRock Latin American Investment Trust plc. Sam is Head of the Emerging Europe and Frontiers team within the Fundamental Active Equity division of BlackRock’s Active Equities Group and is responsible for managing long-only and long/short portfolios in both Emerging and Frontier markets. His service with the firm dates back to 2000, including his years with Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM), which merged with BlackRock in 2006. He earned a BSc degree, with honours, in international relations and history from the London School of Economics.
