Topics
Phil Oakley will start the session with a presentation on cash flow statements and what we can learn from them.
“In many ways, profit is based on opinions relating to the treatment of costs and revenues. This means that they can be manipulated to make a company look like it is doing better than it really is. Cash flow is much harder to fudge over the long run and that’s why it’s a good idea to know something about it” Phil Oakley.
The panellists will then talk about their worst share purchases and what they learnt from them. Learning lessons from one’s mistakes is an important aspect of becoming a better investor.
The final discussion will ask each panellist to discuss their most recent share purchase and tell us why they bought it which will give us an insight into the way they approach their investment decisions
There will be an opportunity for you to pose questions and make your own comments, including a closing general Q&A.
