AB Dynamics (ABDP) AGM Report 2015

I attended the AB Dynamics (ABDP) Annual General Meeting on the 10th December, at their head office in Bradford on Avon. The company has been listed on AIM for some but the share price has raced ahead in the last year after being tipped by Simon Thompson in the Investors Chronicle, and by others. Here is how the company describes itself: "AB Dynamics is a leading designer, manufacturer and provider of advanced testing and measurement products for vehicle suspension, brakes and steering ...

International Biotechnology Trust (IBT) AGM Report 2015

I attended the International Biotechnology Trust (IBT) Annual General Meeting today (9/12/2015). There were more than 30 shareholders present at the offices of BNP Paribas in the City for a start of 12.30 (but no lunch provided before or after so the timing seems a bit odd). That was more people than last year I gather and there were a number of familiar faces present. This is a specialist investment trust focussed on the worldwide biotechnology sector. Performance has been brilliant in ...

Kalibrate (KLBT) AGM Report 2015

Kalibrate Technologies (KLBT) held its AGM in the City of London on the 4th December - it commenced at 10.00 am which may be one reason why there were only three ordinary shareholders there so far as I could see. But that was two more than last year from what one said to me. Kalibrate listed on AIM in November 2013. It provides a business decision platform for fuel and convenience store retailers - pricing and planning solutions. Enabling them to optimise ...

Bioventix Plc (BVXP) AGM Report 2015

Yesterday I attended the Annual General Meeting of Bioventix Plc at the Mercure Bush hotel, Farnham, Surrey. Bioventix is a small (market Cap is £64.5 million) company that specialises in the development and commercial supply of high-affinity monoclonal antibodies with a focus on their application in clinical diagnostics. Results for the year ended 30th June 2015 were as follows: Revenues up 23% to £4.3 million, profit up 39% to £3.1 million and cash balances up £780k to £4.13m. Much of this revenue ...

Pan African Resources (PAF) AGM Report 2015

Yesterday I attended the Annual General Meeting of Pan African Resources Plc at Numis Securities London office in the Stock Exchange Building. Pan African Resources is a mid-tier South African based precious metals business producing approximately 215,000oz of gold per annum with a focus on maintaining and increasing profitable production in the coming years. We started at 2pm with the Chairman Keith Spencer and Non-Exec Hester Hickey in attendance, along with 6 shareholders plus the usual other hangers on. We started by taking ...

Earthport (EPO) AGM Report 2015

On the 20th November I attended the Earthport Annual General Meeting in London, at the somewhat unreasonable time of 9.30 a.m. as I mentioned to the Chairman. This might have been one reason why the attendance of ordinary shareholders fell from three last year to one (i.e. me). Earthport provides low-cost and fast international payments for low value transactions to replace more conventional transfers. Their customers are banks and other businesses that need to execute such payments. They have been listed on ...

Dunelm (DNLM) AGM Report 2015

I attended the Annual General Meeting of homewares retailer Dunelm on the 24th November. Dunelm have a habit of picking inconvenient locations and times for their AGMs, but this year it was in London near Kings Cross. But the actual venue at the back of the Station was difficult to find and with a time of 9.30 a.m. I only just got there in time. There were about 20 people in the meeting, but most of them seemed to be staff or ...

Ideagen Plc (IDEA) AGM Report 2015

Today I attended the Annual General Meeting of Ideagen Plc in Finncap’s central London office. Three ordinary shareholders were present at the AGM (including myself), with all four board members present as well. Ideagen Plc is an AIM listed company that supplies information management software to highly regulated industries (NHS, Defence etc.). Financial highlights from year ending 20th April 2015 are revenue up 60% (organic revenue up 5.3%), dividend up 10% from 2014, and net cash at year-end up from £4.0m to ...

City of London Investment Trust (CTY) – AGM Report 2015

I'll start by repeating what I said about this company in 2012: I have held this general investment trust a very long time - about as long as the fund manager, Job Curtis, has been managing the fund in fact. In other words a very long time, so it was interesting to attend their Annual General Meeting (AGM) yesterday as I don’t always bother. It’s hardly a company where one expects many complaints or surprises at the AGM for reasons that ...

Goodwin (GDWN) AGM Report 2015

Goodwin (GDWN), a family controlled mechanical engineering and refractory business based in Stoke, must be one of the closest British equivalents of the famed ‘mittelstand’ companies which have driven Germany’s economic success in recent years. Founded in 1883, it is run by the sixth generation of the founding family and boasts long-term shareholder returns that few companies can match. Although Goodwin’s share price has nearly halved since its peak of £41.75 last year, primarily due to almost half its revenues being oil ...
