Event description: Nigel Robinson (CEO) will introduce Central Asia Metals and give an update on recent performance, results, and plans, before answering any questions.
Company Information: Central Asia Metals (CAML) is a diversified company that operates low-cost mineral assets, producing the base metals that are essential for modern living, safely and sustainably for all its stakeholders. CAML owns the Kounrad solvent extraction and electrowinning (SX-EW) copper facility in central Kazakhstan and the Sasa zinc and lead mine in North Macedonia.
Sustainability is very important to the Company and is integral to its operations in both Kazakhstan and North Macedonia. CAML publishes an annual Sustainability Report in line with the Global Reporting Initiative standards, and as of 2021 has begun reporting towards TCFD in its climate change disclosures. CAML has committed to a 50% reduction in its scope 1 and scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 versus a 2020 base, and to achieving net zero by 2050.
Since listing on the AIM, CAML has established itself as a company known for its dividends, paying both an interim and final dividend to shareholders. The company has returned $277 million to shareholders through its dividends since 2012. The company is now debt-free with a strong balance sheet and is well placed to look for value-accretive growth opportunities for the long term.
