Scottish Technical Traders Investor Group

The group, which covers Scotland and is open to members from wider afield, focuses on ‘Technical Trading’ rather than ‘Investing’. The group will discuss topics such as swing trading, stop losses, position sizing, chart patterns, support and resistance, indicators, price targets, positive expectancy, trade management, trading systems, trade ideas and evaluation, trade planning, leading and lagging sectors, leading and lagging participants within sectors, trade journals, and the ‘Tools of the Trade’. The majority of the group have both longer-term investments and short-term trades, identifying as both ‘investors’ with a longer-term outlook and ‘traders’ with a shorter-term outlook. Members have broad experience in markets, including all asset classes and vehicles, but are predominantly interested in equities within a portfolio. While some members are highly experienced traders, experience level should not be an impediment to joining. Every day is a ‘school day’ for all, and Mr Market ensures that everyone is well-informed about the market.
