RBS Campaign Update 10 – 161 forms submitted, press release issued and huge media coverage

Update 10 29/12/2017 – 161 forms submitted, press release issued and huge media coverage

Today I travelled to London to deliver the 161 signed forms to RBS. Yesterday, we issued a press release. Radio 4 reported on it in their Business Briefing at 6.25am. There were lots of press stories.

Cliff Weight Delivers Requisitions to RBS

We thought the press coverage today was balanced. We have worked well (together with RBS people) in avoiding the negative publicity that occurred earlier in the year. This is good progress in our more productive working relationship with RBS. I noted the following coverage in Reuters, FT, Indy, Telegraph, Times, Yahoo, Press Assocation and CityWire. There will also be a piece in Shares magazine which is very important to us (60,000 private investors subscribe to this) and in the Investors Chronicle. I was told a story is also on page 2 of the business news of the Scotsman but have not seen the article yet.

We now have to wait (probably to the end of January) to see if RBS will accept our resolution for a shareholder committee and the request for a discussion at the AGM. Last year they told us their Board decision on 30 January, after their January Board meeting.
