ShareSoc Masterclass @ Mello London, 27 November 2018

An Entertaining & Educational Evening for Investors

We are delighted to announce that ShareSoc will be running a very special Masterclass at the Mello London investor event, at the Clayton Hotel in Chiswick on the 27th November.

The Masterclass will run from 17.00 to 19.30 with a first-class panel. The whole event will be chaired by Gareth Evans (Progressive Equity Research) and we shall be looking in detail at two topics:

  • Tales from the Balance Sheet – Useful tricks to aid your research and,
  • Can anyone invest like Warren Buffett? – A guide for individual investors

* Please note that this is a ticket-only event organised by ShareSoc, and is a separate event from Mello London. Tickets to Mello London do not entitle you to entry.

* Access to the venue is possible no earlier than 4 pm, unless you have also purchased a Mello London entry ticket. Full members can get discounted tickets to Mello London by clicking here.

The revenues we raise go toward funding ShareSoc’s campaigning and educational work on behalf of individual investors. Tickets for full members (and an optional guest) are £29.50.

For associate members and others, the ticket price is £49.50.

Our Panel

Leon Boros

Leon Boros is a Chartered Accountant who trained with Ernst & Young and is a founding director of Equity Strategies, a deal origination corporate finance firm. Glen Arnold, PhD, used to be a professor of investing but concluded that academic life was not nearly as much fun, nor as intellectually stimulating, the markets. As a wealthy investor he now runs his equity portfolio from an office in rural Leicestershire. His main research focus explores the question ‘What works in investment?’, drawing on ideas of the great investors, academic discoveries and corporate strategic analysis. He does explain his investment choices and discusses investment ideas at newsletters.advfn.com/deepvalueshares. He is the author of many investment books, including the UK’s bestseller. – see www.glen-arnold-investments.co.uk

He is a CFA Charterholder, also holding the Investment Management Certificate and the STA Diploma in Technical Analysis. He graduated in mathematics from Trinity College, Dublin.

Maynard Paton
Maynard has been an active share investor for 25 years. Between 1999 and 2014, he wrote investment articles for The Motley Fool UK that included issuing stock recommendations and managing a real-time, real-money portfolio. At the start of 2015, aged 43, Maynard became a full-time private investor and began his own quality investment blog at maynardpaton.com. In addition, he now writes stock-screening and company analysis articles for SharePad, the leading private-investor software service.
